So why are they going to Charleston? did i miss something? I'm sure it's cause there is something or someone there. Cuase it sure as hell ain't for the BBQ. (i lived there for over a year. the bbq is horrible)
and am i correct in thinking that the south, with the exception of Atlanta, New Orleans, and Miami fared better than mot parts east of the Missisippi River>

In an episode a girl was flying an airplane and landed next to their camp. She tells everyone about how Charleston has hot water showers, food, and other great amenities. I believe she said it was around 3,000 people there? She said she is flying around the world telling anyone she can find to head to Charleston. Apparently it is a safe zone from the skitters/overlords.
Talking about that though, I wonder if it is safe from the spider things that were in the last episode since it is a new species?
Back to your question. A person flying in a plan must have fuel, and lots of it to fly around. Also, hot showers and safety from the invaders is extremely enticing. That is why they are going.
If I missed something someone else pipe in.
Chris

That woman's name was Avery Churchill, and you are correct Chris. She told the 2nd Mass of a paradise where 3,000 people are located with running hot water, food and electricity. Sounds too good to be true doesn't it? And it's surprising to see how the ships haven't picked up the airplane when they now pick up the cars. I don't buy her story about flying low enough where they don't detect her, these aliens are not dumb. I think Charleston may be a possible trap or a neutral zone the Overlord told Tom Mason of. But maybe it's a place where civilization can rebuild and restart. It's a very interesting story line and I can't wait to find out what is there and what happens.

i just watched an old season 2 preview with a fleeting glimpse of the guy from lost in it ( locke the cripple who could walk?) i never watched it despite all the recommendations i heard it ended badly any way i also heard that locke is playing toms old mentor who he'll meet again at Charleston with this in mind the scene i saw was Dr Anne getting grabbed by a soldier with locke looking on angry/ indifferent
so does this mean Charleston is definitely not the stripper covered gingerbread house we were meant to believe it is?

From what has been going around on the net and from the cast themselves it's not what they were expecting. I believe it is a trap and it's probably a neutral zone or the leaders behind it are working with the Overlord in some way. Whatever it is, it's going to be bad and will continue as a story line in season three. I can't wait to find out.

Yeah. Ok Charleston is suspected to be the "Safe Zone" the Overlord was talking about. We do not know if it is safe from the baby skitters that acts like a Trojan Horse if one victim is infected. And I just went over the Season 2 Premiere trailer and saw Tom Mason talking with a American Flag behind him. Like he is the leader or something like that. So Im going to assume that he is in Charleston and is trying to get everyone there to fight back..
If that is true, I would say hundreds maybe even thousands will die in the Beamer attack if the survivors decide to fight back. Wait and See. Lets hope this next episode shows Charleston or even close to it because I want this season to last longer then Season 1 and I mean nearly 20 episodes if possible.

Sounds too good to be true doesn't it? Actually, that doesn't sound very good at all. Present-day Charleston proper has a population of 120,083 people, with 664,607 in the metro area. So overall population is down by between 97.5 and 99.5 percent. And they are and have been trying to get people from all across the country to move there?

Yes, they are trying to get the remaining survivors of the U.S to gather at Charleston. Yep, defiantly sounds like a trap and the neutral zone that has been discussed with Tom twice. Actually, Avery Churchill stated her next stop was Iceland, if I remember correctly. They were trying to gather everyone in the world, not just the U.S. Chris P.S. I edited this post because I finally figured out how to do a quote on here. yay me! ;D

Now we have to have a perfect idea on what is going on with the Charleston idea. When I saw the episode tonight, I was shocked. I even gave up hope. Until the very last minute when something happened that nearly made me cry in a happy way lol.

After watching the next preview for the next episode that we will see on Sunday, it's some kind of dictatorship and I still believe Charleston is some kind of trap. I believe they may be working for the Overlord and agreed to a neutral zone. Very interesting storyline to see what happens.

The Kentuckian is right. Can't trust them coastal types; all the salt and shrimp gumbo messes with their heads.

But the problem is Porter will NEVER agree to a nuetral zone. If it indeed is a nuetral zone, and Porter finds out, Im sure he will fight to the death.
