I've found another article about the series. Nothing new, just few details here and there.... filmreviewonline.com/2010/09/02/falling-skies-cast-members-noah-wyle-and-moon-bloodgood-offer-a-first-look-at-tnt%E2%80%99s-alien-invasion-series/Could you give us a little background on your respective characters?Noah Wyle I play a guy named Tom Mason, former tenured history professor at Boston University, father of three, recently widowed.I still don't get if his wife was already dead before the invasion or aliens kill her.... the middle son has been captured in the invasion, as many adolescents are being pressed into service by the aliens.
Into service? I join up with a resistance group, the Second Massachusetts, just as one of the survivors and I find myself getting pressed into more of a leadership role. After the pilot I get anointed as second in command to Will Patton’s character, Captain WeaverNow it sounds better and more realistic ;D This series starts after the alien invasion has already happened?Noah: The back-story is that six months ago, these ships appeared over the skies of every major metropolitan city in the world.
They stayed there for a while, and then suddenly systematically manage to knock out the power grid and everything electronic, whether it’s computers, cell phones; any car that works off electronics is totally obsolete, so mankind is thrown back almost into a 19th century existence. All the major capitals have been destroyed, the army has been decimated and what’s left is stragglers, who have formed up this group in Massachusetts, so the pilot has them evacuating Boston as it’s no longer a tenable position to maintain, and splitting up into smaller groups that are less easy to track.
The idea is that these groups have all spread out and gone to ground and are trying to find a way to survive and meet back up at a later date when they’ve made a little more progress in figuring out if the aliens have some sort of vulnerability, or if we can figure out a way of developing a communication system or a way or knocking out their communication system, so that’s the basic premise.Do we ever find out what the actually aliens want?Noah: There is something very specific that they do want, but we’re sworn to secrecy about it. The powers-that-be have assured us that this is all extremely well thought out and will be revealed not only in upcoming episodes but subsequent seasons as wellSo my question is: do they already have a contract for more seasons?

Thanks Raffy! ;D Sworn into secrecy, or the actors don't know? Moon and Noah sounded at ComicCon like they were just assured by the writers that there was a plot, but that they didn't know it themselves... Interesting also about Steven Spielberg:

Seriable wrote his analysis about Falling Skies title graphic ;D seriable.com/first-title-graphic-for-spielbergs-falling-skies-invades/I like this part: The spherical outline of the Earth (or ‘sonic boom’, as I like to call it) rests beneath the title words, perhaps suggesting that the alien arrival will not break the hope of mankind, or that it will test our courage and honor.

Interesting... Thank you Raffy! A tiny bit overanalyzed maybe ... They call it a "wild speculation", and I guess they are right. But what else can you do while waiting for next summer, aside from widely speculating? ;D

;D Very good position for a show that won't start before next Summer! ;D And I love that they "had" to add a picture from Falling Skies now on that page! That was missing!

From Mark Verheiden Blog ;D Toronto, New York and L.A. I've been in Toronto for the last few days writing and rewriting away on "Falling Skies" (coming next Summer! TNT! Executive producer Steven Spielberg! Aliens attack and we fight back!) and managed to come down with the king-Daddy of colds, which certainly helps with the ol' inspiration. ("In this scene, the aliens run out of tissue!") At any rate, we're in "so far so good" mode -- we're starting to see cuts of episodes and preliminary FX and all sorts of cool stuff. The only unfortunate part is knowing these shows won't air until next Summer... that's a long time! I KNOW!!! For what it's worth I'll be in NYC for the ComicCon on Oct. 9, so if you're in the neighborhood drop on by. I haven't done a NY show in twenty years and it's about time! I see my old BSG crew-mate Katee Sackhoff will be there, as well as my "My Name Is Bruce" pal Bruce Campbell. Could there be a BSG/Evil Dead crossover movie in their future? We can only hope! verheiden.blogspot.com/2010/09/toronto-new-york-and-la.html

More info about Seychelle Gabriel' s character You play Lourdes in Falling Skies, (early 2011 launch) what did you find challenging about that role? SG: Lourdes is a very complex character who has a lot going on in her life. She was a pre-med student before the aliens arrived. She's very religious. She's musical. The most challenging part of playing her was her spirituality. While I am a spiritual person, I generally keep my faith to myself. Lourdes is very eager to openly talk about her faith with others and spread her faith, which I really respect. Even though aliens are stealing children and killing, she's so very optimistic. Early lunch? Really? I don't think so
