Everything I read so far about Tom Mason goes in that direction indeed... A guy (teacher in both case in his 'former life') has to become a military leader, when nothing prepared him for it. It seems that a big part of the survivors will be young guys, almost kids, as the young soldiers Tom Hanks' character had to lead. From what they say about the comic book and the little bit we saw of it, things seem a bit less bad for mankind than what I first expected... From the very first comments that were out about the show, I thought it would be like a hundred of survivors at most all in all, with really no hope of saving the human species, and with people having to hide in caves all the time... It actually looks like there are quite a few survivors, and they can wander quite freely at the surface of the earth . Well, this seems actually like an easier story to tell. Okay, so the webcomic will be to purchase on iTunes and elsewhere, but what about the first comic book? Will it be to buy anywhere aside from eBay?

It would be a little difficult to tell a story like that and capture audience's attention. I think the point is that all the survivors are scattered around the world, not just USA, and they're trying to find a way to fight aliens with the few they have Good question, claire. But I don't have a clue

I wonder why they have to wait so long!

That's what they said at San Diego Comic Con Why must we wait so long?It won’t be out until sometime after the 2011 NBA Playoffs next June. The producers talked about how they could’ve had it ready to go by January/February, but that marketing during the playoffs is too big an opportunity to launch a show geared to a more male demographic. Plus, TNT does most of their shows during the summer. fallingskiesfans.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=fl&thread=29&page=1#140

I guess that answers my question then, still, it doesn't make the wait any easier.

Tunnels, Seeing End Of... Falling Skies Edition So, you're asking, what happened to Mark the cheerful, regularly blogging presence on the internet? Well, a lot of exciting hard work is what happened... And to create what is looking like a really cool result. We start shooting the finale episode of Falling Skies Season One (written by yours truly) in just a couple of days, so the train that is production left the station, careened across many hills and valleys, and now seems to be nearing its destination. I could belabor the train metaphor for a few more paragraphs, but that would require thought and frankly, I've still got work to do. So this is called "checking in" with a promise of fuller reporting once things settle down... And besides, I like reminding people that Falling Skies is coming soon! Executive Producer Steven Spielberg! Noah Wyle! Moon Bloodgood! Will Patton! TNT! Summer of 2011! With associated comic book material produced by Dark Horse Comics! Keep watching the skies (and the internet)! (Exclamation points not included.) More (much more) soon -- verheiden.blogspot.com/2010/10/tunnels-seeing-end-of-falling-skies.html

I thought last week was the last one but accoding to Mark Verheiden blog this one is the last week of shotings! Monday, November 08, 2010 Falling Skies - Home Stretch, Season One Besides what I've learned from the movies, I've also learned that it can get pretty friggin' cold in Toronto in November! While my home town of Los Angeles was enjoying 90 degree weather (!), the stalwart crew of Falling Skies were out all night in the midst of snow flurries and a bitter ol' wind... But we are entering the last week of shooting, and the weather this week promises to be sunny and sightly warmer, so it's all good. Everyone knows aliens don't like cold weather... In other news, I believe the first chapter of the ongoing Falling Skies comic series debuts on-line today, at the Dark Horse and TNT websites. These stories catch up with our characters a few months before the series begins and give some clues about where we'll be going with the series itself. Give it a look! verheiden.blogspot.com/

I had to point out two or three things about their BIG PROMOTIONAL CAMPAIGN!

I seriously considered posting just to write 'what she said ^ " I understand not wanting to promote it too hard too early, but people are actually beginning to doubt if the project still exists? That can't be good. it reminds me that a few days ago I was going through an Israeli newspaper and saw the headline 'Spielberg takes on creating a TV project from a comic' and my heart gave such a jump---- but then it turns out they're talking about a movie based on the comic 'Tintin'... *sigh* dear people of TNT: please A-D-V-E-R-T-I-S-E!!!

Exactly. It's early. And I don't pretend they light the world with floodlights who claim "They're coming!" (ermm...and I don't think things like those are "good" promotional campaign) but it would be cool (and easier) to "use" things like SPoilerTV to "update" people about a project that they decided to announce so early and air so late. Isn't it possible that if I don't submit news about the show on Spoiler TV there's anyone who does it?
